Roots in the Mediterranean Volcanos, awake along the spine
My roots breathe in the southern Mediterranean. The volcanoes are my home. I was born in Basel in the early '70s. My personal story touches on Roman and Greek culture as well as the Andalusian rhythm. Intellectually, I was shaped by German-speaking Central Europe. I woke up along my spine in the late '90s in India. Since then, my two inner cobras have accompanied me in an infinite spiral movement, which allows me to communicate with the void via my pineal gland. Spiritually I dance with the shamans of the Andes, with the mysticism of the Pacific, with the Shinto of Japan, with the Upanishads of India, with the gentleness of the Lakota and with the sensual poetry of Rumi. I obtained a Master of Science at the University of Bern, where I studied psychology. Professional experience has accompanied me as a leader, coach, trainer & speaker. Physically, I engage with Far Eastern martial arts and Latin American drums. In the here and now I also bear the responsibility of BA & Co. GmbH in the greater Basel area.
The magic and alchemy of the invisible, which always manifests itself in the visible, is the fire of my fascination. The understanding and communication of insights about this interplay are my vocation.
Learn, Dissolve, Create
Every master follows the ancient path of Shu Ha Ri. Your journey with KI SHIN DO is not linear—it is a spiral of deepening awareness, shedding old patterns, and embodying your authentic truth.
Shu – Learn
Absorb the fundamentals. Master the forms. Follow the teacher. Build your foundation in breath, stance, and basic sword work. Discipline and repetition awaken your body.
Ha – Dissolve
Break the rules. Question what you learned. Adapt techniques to your unique body and spirit. Integrate multiple traditions. The forms become fluid, intuitive, personal.
Ri – Create
Transcend technique. Express your truth. You are no longer learning or dissolving—you are creating. Your movement becomes your art, your medicine, your offering to the world.
The Inner Melody
KI SHIN DO is an invitation to live with more harmony and to express the POWER of your „inner melody“ – by feeling FIRE in the blood, void in the mind and LOVE in the HEART.

The Warrior
A warrior of light carries a divine spark within him. Most of the time, he is with the other warriors, but sometimes he must also practice the art of swordsmanship alone. Therefore, when separated from his companions, he behaves like a star. He illuminates the part of the universe that has been allotted to him, seeking to reveal galaxies and worlds to all who look up at the sky. The warrior’s perseverance will soon be rewarded. Little by little, other warriors join him, and the companions form constellations, each with its own mysteries and symbols.
